  1. Page Types

Page Types

Page types define the structure and layout of content across the site. Choosing the right page type ensures your content is presented effectively and consistently. Each example on this site is designed to help you visualize how it functions in context.

Basic Page

The core element of any WordPress site used for presenting informational and engaging content. Basic Pages can be simple, single-column layouts with static content or can serve as visually-appealing landing pages with multi-column layouts.

Archive/Listing Page

A dynamic page that displays a feed of a certain content type, such as news articles or staff profiles. This page type can support filtering and sorting to help users quickly find the right content.

Header and Footer / Navigation

These are global elements that appear across all pages and are essential to the user experience.

  • Header – Includes site branding, primary navigation links, and optional search functionality.
  • Footer – Provides a site’s contact information and links to key resources.
  • Navigation – Designed to be intuitive and consistent, supporting users as they move through the site. Navigation can be customized per site.
